Emma Miller
Barne Barton
“I am the Chair of NYCT. I have been on the board since the Trust was formed and I represent Barne Barton. I have lived in the catchment area of NYCT all my life and I am very active within the local community. I sit on the Boards of several organisations in the area. These vary from maternity through to adults and that enables me to have a broad view and opinion of what is happening in our area. I have organised and run many large community events as well as helping organise smaller craft fayres and events. I have 5 children which keeps me active as well in the community.”
Pat Patel
Barne Barton
“For the last 12 years I have been very much involved in the Barne Barton community, I have built a shop and negotiated a profit share from its occupiers the Co-operative which are used to benefit the community as well as creating a successful and self sustaining community facility and social enterprise. Tamar View Community Centre is one of a few organisations which does not seek revenue funding and actually invests in its community. I have established a church, a parent & toddler group, a work club and until recently been involved in the provision of a Money Advice service on the estate. I believe that my skills are useful to the trust and my local knowledge of the communities needs is excellent.”
Sharon Hill
